receives funding from
Surrey Primary Care Trust,
through their Partnership Funding Scheme.
The Handyperson service is able to:
- Fit grab-rails and handrails.
- Adjust/replace ballcocks.
- Renew tap washers.
- Seal baths and sinks.
- Replace lightbulbs and fittings.
- Fit plugs to household appliances.
- Fix curtains rails, shelves, knobs and handles.
- Ease doors and windows.
- Reputty windows.
- Make safe loose carpeting.
- Replace a windowpane/door glass.
- Energy Efficiency advice and Grant information.
- Free fitting of door bars and viewers for vulnerable older people, subject to availability.
- Fitting and supply of Keysafes, also subject to availability.
Cost:
There is a small subsidised charge for the Handyperson Service of £10 (up to the first hour), however if the job takes more than an hour, you will be
charged accordingly. For example, one and a half hours work will be charged at £15. The cost of any materials supplied will also be charged to the client.
Our Handyperson will not take on larger jobs such as decorating, electrical wiring, gas repairs or work above 1st floor level. We do have a list of Traders that
we can refer you to, for these larger jobs. Although we cannot vouch for their work, we have taken up references and checked that they have Public Liability Insurance.
