Books on Wheels

Are you someone who loves to read, but can no longer visit the library because of ill health or disability?

Well, you needn't miss out. We can bring the library right to your door, and not just books: the Information Service is open to you and talking books are also offered. Depending on your situation, this can be done in one of two ways:

Housebound Readers Ticket

If you have a friend or relative who can visit the library for you, why not ask about the Housebound Reader's Ticket? Your local library can give you all the details and tell you how to apply. You will find their address below.

Housebound Service

Perhaps it is not possible for someone to call into the library for you? Don't worry. Through the help of voluntary groups and individual volunteers, the County Library in many areas of the County operates a personal service.

If you feel you would benefit from a housebound service operating locally through the help of Age Concern Spelthorne, please telephone the office on 01784 444200/211 and we will take your details and put you in touch with one of our volunteers through the Surrey Library Service. One of our Support Workers will then make an initial visit to take your details and your requirements on types of books - these include books, videos and talking books.
