Volunteering for Age Concern

Volunteers make a vital contribution to the work of Age Concern Spelthorne, whether in the office answering the telephones, befriending an older person and visiting them in their home, as part of our Books on Wheels scheme, or being a wheelchair pusher or helper on our outings.

We offer training & support and a very warm welcome, so come and be a part of our great team of volunteers!

Volunteering can be a way of making new friends, enriching other peoples lives and can be very rewarding. If you think you would like to become one of our volunteers, please contact us on 01784 444200/211 or e-mail us by using our on-line form here > contact us.

Link-Up Project

The Link-Up Project is a Befriending Scheme primarily aimed at older people who are living alone and are not able to leave their homes easily. Volunteer befrienders can visit people in their home for a chat, take clients shopping, visit a garden centre, arrange regular tea/coffee get-togethers or make a regular phone call.

The Link-Up Project depends solely on our volunteers and their commitment and time. If you can spare a few hours, either on a weekly, fortnightly or a monthly basis and are interested in becoming a volunteer befriender please contact us.
